Vidin Municipality: Fish and Fish Brine Festival was held on the banks of the Danube near the village of Koshava

The event is organized within the framework of the project "The Taste of Tradition - the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Vidin and Bor for Sustainable Tourism", funded under the Cross-Border Cooperation Program "Interreg - IPA Bulgaria - Serbia 2014 - 2020". Project partners are the Association "Vidin Community Centers Fund", the National Community Center "Saznanie-1928", the village of Koshava and the Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage "Koreni" from the town of Zajčar, Serbia. Guests of the official opening today in the "Ribarite" area on the banks of the Danube River were the Deputy Mayor of Vidin Municipality Borislava Borisova, the Secretary of the Municipality Emilian Enchev, the Deputy Mayor of the village of Koshava Galina Nikolova and the Chairman of the Center "Koreni" Perislav Dutsich. On the holiday of September 17, when the memory of the holy martyrs Vyara, Nadezhda and Lyubov and their mother Sofia is also honored, many people from both sides of the border gathered. Deputy Mayor Borisova addressed the attendees with a greeting: “I am glad that the bad weather did not scare us today and here, on the banks of the Danube, we will kick off the Fish Festival, the holding of which is made possible thanks to a project funded under the Cross-Border Cooperation Program between Bulgaria and Serbia. In order to revive traditions, to create another bridge for successful cooperation between the Bulgarian and Serbian sides, to implement various programs and projects,” said Borislava Borisova. She wished everyone health, good emotions, peace and understanding in their homes. Galina Nikolova and Perislav Dutsich also extended their congratulations. Visitors to the festival had the opportunity to try delicious fish and fish soup, to see the culinary exhibition of Bulgarian and Serbian authentic dishes, to dance to the sounds of the Zlatorozhie orchestra and to have fun. The festival continued in the hall of the community center in the village of Koshava with a rich folklore program with the participation of Bulgarian and Serbian amateur groups.
